Where to Eat in Lahaina, Maui! 🌴


If you want an enjoyable Kaukau (dining) experience in Maui, you will not be disappointed when visiting Lahaina. 

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lahaina restaurants are open and have successfully practiced social distancing and sanitizing protocols that have allowed many to remain open. The perfect island climate 🌴 adds to enjoyable outdoor and open-air indoor dining.  

Some of our favorites include:

Royal Lahaina Resort 👑- we enjoy locally-made ice cream at the Royal Scoop. Savor a tropical cocktail or cold draft brew at the Beach Bar. If fine dining is called for enjoy the exquisite views at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant & Lounge. 

Seahouse Restaurant 🏖- You will truly enjoy the beautiful beach of Napili and the Seahouse Restaurant. The open air dining and breathtaking sunset views are truly Aloha.  Make a day of it as it is an amazing swimming spot and a great place to Snorkel! Also a safe calm lagoon for the kiddos to swim too. The Seahouse restaurant is right on the beach and has remained open during COVID. The delicious sea-to-table cuisine promises to deliver. It truly is one of our very favorites and we HIGHLY recommend it! You should call the Seahouse for dinner reservations it books up quickly.

The Hula Grill 🏖 -5 minutes north of old town Lahaina you will find the famous and sought after beach of Kaanapali. 2.4 miles long, Kaanapali Beach is extremely wide with the most marvelous soft and fluffy sand. The Hula Grill offers dining right on the beach while enjoying the sounds of the waves. 

The Beach House Bar & Grill 🏖 - Sands of Kahana is an amazing resort with a nice beach and spectacular sunset views of Molokai and Lanai. Enjoy your Prime Rib dinner. Also a fun place to lunch and relax and enjoy da kine daily grind.  The Mahi bites and crab cakes are delicious starters and add the fish tacos, seared Ahi BLT or a Mahi Reuben.  Honestly a great menu with many gluten free options.  Happy Hour is 2-5 with a good selection of local beer, wine and cocktails and there is a fun Keiki Keiki menu for kids 12 and under.

The Maui Brewing Company - Open for dine in or takeout during COVID. For good pizza and local beer we recommend this spot. Tucked away in the Kahana gateway center, it is a local hangout.

Mala Cafe 🏖- Voted 2019 Best Oceanfront Dining on the Island of Maui by Maui No Ka Oi Magazine. Not only a fun place to eat, but turtle watching is amazing here. The acoustics are amazing when the waves hit the smooth rocks. Breakfast is VERY popular. Get there early or you'll be waiting but it is worth it. The food is amazing. You may want to ask them about $1 mimosas on Monday! Mala Ocean Tavern

Roy's in Kaanapali  Hawaii Inspired Euro-Asian Cuisine the food is unique. It's a reflection of the many different cultures in Hawaii. Roy has combined bold Asian flavors, classic European techniques, and the freshest local ingredients to create what we call, "Hawaii Inspired Euro-Asian Cuisine". The menu reflects the favorites of the guests, Roy's signature preparations, and the creative flare of his chefs. When they prepare food at the restaurant they treat it like it is for their our own family or Roy himself. It should be perfect.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. 🏖 - Located on the ocean side of Front Street  in Lahaina with SPECTACULAR ocean views and amazing sunsets. Open air with Oceanfront and lanai seating. This isn't the traditional commercial setting you may be used to for Bubba's. This is the restaurant where Chris Pratt was discovered as a waiter!

Dollie's Pub & Cafe - Where’s the cool place to go on the West Side where you can get good food and watch your favorite game? With 15 TV’s, including two big screen plasma TV’s, two happy hours every day, and a satellite dish, Dollies Pub and Cafe is the most popular dining and entertainment spot north of Lahaina town for visitors and locals alike. If you love Monday Night Football, Dollies is the place to be, they have every game during football season on fifteen satellite TV’s! So no matter who your team is, they are playing at Dollies.

No matter which restaurant you choose, bring your appetite as any of them will promise an enjoyable Kaukau experience in Ka'anapali, Lahaina, Kahana, Napili, Maui restaurants.

We highly recommend this view unit at Sands of Kahana.  The Beach House Bar and Grill is right on-site.

Traveling with Pets🐕 to Hawaii🌴🐈

🐾Traveling to the sunshine  and beaches in Hawaii with your beloved best  friend  CAN be stress -fre e.   Plan ahead, map it out, give yourself 60 days from your trip  to start your check list. Also, it is much easier the 2nd trip! You will need some help to navigate the complexity of the Hawaii rules.   I think they make it "seem" complicated to deter the practice, however, if you know how and have connections, it really can be simple.   Be of good cheer 🥂 ! You are going to Hawaii, and it is, after all, …Hawaii .
